birthday baby

When we first found out we were pregnant, we were excited to learn that this baby would be Graham's birthday baby, since the original due date was May 31st - Graham's birthday. With Eden's bday just three days after mine, it was fun to think about Graham getting a birthday baby, too. When Lydia finally arrived, I was excited that she at least made it to Graham's birthday month before coming into the world.

Now a month later, we were able to celebrate Graham's 33rd and Lydia's one-month marks together.

Lydia celebrated her one-month mark with a doctor's check-up on Monday where we found out she now weighs 6 pounds 12.5 ounces!! Up from 5 lbs 4 oz just two weeks ago. The most amazing part of the appointment came when the doctor said we no longer have to set our alarm during the night!! I was setting an alarm for every 3 to 4 hours every night to make sure Lydia ate enough. Now we at least have the possibility of being able to sleep for longer periods!! Woo-hoo!

Now, back to the birthday boy - he said what he really wanted for his birthday was a clean house. We tried to do the best we could in that department but really only got the main part of the house straight. We did, however, have lots of other celebrating during the day beginning with a beignet breakfast. Eden and I "snuck" out for a surprise to get the beignets.

Eden said we had to have cupcakes with pink icing to really celebrate her daddy's birthday. I figured I'd explain the concept of making what the birthday person wants and not what you want when next year's birthday rolls around.

Of course, she had to test one out before Graham got home to make sure they were ok.

After a celebratory dinner at the local pizza restaurant (again, Eden's favorite place), we came home to open cards and presents and blowing out the candles, the most important part.

The morning after his big day, I got to take some pics of Graham in all his daddy glory ...

I am so thrilled to be able to share this parenting journey with Graham and to be able to celebrate him. Celebrating 33 was a fun, loving, tiring, amazing day. So thankful for both of my May birthday babes!
