Somehow, Miss EB decided she wanted to have chore list. Here's what she came up with  ...

 Sounds like a great chore list for a 5-year-old!

Easter weekend

On Easter weekend we made the drive to Jackson to visit with CC and Granddaddy and Uncle BoBo, Aunt CoCo, and Baby Winters!

There was dying of eggs ...

... and eating them.

Lydia was SOOOOO excited to see "Baby CoCo" - she asks all the time to see the baby and searches the house for Ashley's phone in order to call.

On Sunday morning, there were baskets and stuffies and an indoor egg hunt!

We are very much looking forward to all the cousins being together this summer for some crawling (and perhaps some walking) lessons ... growing up so fast!

after dinner

We ended up having dinner outside tonight since the weather this time of year is really amazing in Louisiana. After dinner, the girls had fun picking leaves and trying to catch lizards. I'm too tired to edit these photos, but here they are ... Lydia with a messy, mac-and-cheese face and sunscreen in her hair ... and Miss EB with a lizard in her hand. Pretty perfect if you ask me ...

23 month update

On April 3, Lydia turned 23 months. She is really growing up!

She is

• talking more
• taking off her shoes and putting them up when we ask
• not wanting to sit in her highchair in the kitchen but at the table with EB
• enjoying making art (and showing us every line)
• starting to hit and scream when she does not get her way
• playing peek-a-boo
• really answering questions
• staying up later
• playing by herself for a sustained period of time
• asking questions and wanting answers
• asking for Eleanor cookies
• able to express an opinion for what type of fruit she wants during snack

So many new things ... and next is being TWO!

our new house!

We started looking for houses almost 2 months ago. We found many but only a few we really liked. There was one that got away ... but not this time! Before it came on the market officially we made an offer (around 10 pm Tuesday night). After a quick counter and our accepting, it is very close to being ours! All that is left is the inspection and appraisal. Here is a preview.

life is "good"

Yesterday and today, Lydia actually answered our normal questions with a word. Graham asked yesterday, "How was school today, Lela?" -- "Gooood" said with a smile. This morning I asked how her run with Daddy was,same answer. She smiled such a big smile after, clearly very pleased with herself!
