Tuesday playdates

Since the beginning of the semester, Eden and I have been spending every afternoon, Monday through Thursday, together. It's a different schedule from last year, and I L-O-V-E being able to look forward to picking her up each day. It also helps that I can't pick her up earlier (parents are not allowed to disturb the napping babies), so I do stay at work until the designated time each day.

Anyhow, on Tuesdays, we usually spend our afternoon with our friends from church Lenae and Tommy. I decided at the beginning of the semester that I'd try to spend time with new friends during my afternoons with Eden, and our Tuesday afternoon playdate with Lenae and Tommy just turned into a regular gig.

Isn't Tommy precious? He's already as tall as Eden, and he's only 13 months old.

These photos are from a few weeks ago when Lenae and Tommy visited our house, but this afternoon was the day I was sure Lenae and I were really friends.

You see, when I got to her house she was on the phone with a doctor she works with. She had just sliced her finger while cutting onions and was talking to the doc about needing stitches (yuck! I just took her word for it as I didn't actually look for myself). So, a few minutes after Eden and I walked in, Lenae walked out to go get her finger looked at, leaving me and Eden to play at her apartment while Tommy slept. Add to this, Graham met Lenae's brother for coffee while we were in Chicago to talk about stay-at-home dads. So, Graham has had coffee with her brother, and I've kept Tommy while she rushed to the doctor. Yep, I'd say we're officially real friends now.
