the girls over there

While Eden was with CC and Granddaddy, Graham and I decided (well, I decided) it was finally time to switch our room and Lydia's/the guest room.

You see, our house has two bedrooms and a hall bath on one side of the house and another bedroom and attached "master" bath on the other side. When we first moved in, E had just moved out of her crib, and I just couldn't imagine being across the house with her newfound freedom. So, we spent the next two years, with our bedroom across the house from our bathroom, and I loved it. I could hear everything that happened during the night, didn't need a monitor, not so convenient but definitely comforting.

Anyhow, now that Lydia has been really sleeping well in her room, we really couldn't go into her room once she was asleep, which cut off our bathroom/closet for two long naps and all night. And, now that she's actually sleeping at night, she wouldn't really wake E if she was close. And, Graham has wanted to have his room as the room with an attached bath for two years. And, L's room gets super hot mid-morning ... so I just gave in.

It was a really good switch. Still a bit for me to get used to with the girls over there and our bedroom over on the other side. But, here's the comforting view I had tonight on the monitor ...

That's right, both girls in one image.

E has decided the past few nights that she wanted to get ready for bed, read books in her room, and then get in the bed in L's room once she was ready to fall asleep. She's made her way to our room in the middle of the night each night, but it's sweet to see her wanting to be so close to her sis.
