Stories by Eden Brooks Bodie

Over the weekend, Eden started to tell us things and asked us to write them down. So, we went with it. With the first one, I had to ask her to slow down, but she soon got the hang of it and would say a phrase, then wait for me to stop writing before she said another. We simply wrote and listened. The moments were short-lived but I'm so glad we got it down on paper. I should space these out in numerous posts, but I'm not. Here are her first stories and poems/meditations/thoughts as dictated to me and Graham.

STORY 1

Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful kind lady,
and there was no castle for them to live in.

And there weren’t any dragons.
And they didn’t have any food to eat.

There was snow in the village.
And, they were no food and ice and drinks for them to drink.

There were no kittens in the village
And there were no things except ice, water, and food.

And then, they were not any stuff except clothes and ice and water.
And then, the dragon swallowed her up.

And then, a big Lydia Superhero came and saved her from the dragon’s mouth.
And then,

That was the end of that book.
The End.

STORY 2

Lydia was a good girl.
She had much to do,
and she didn’t know how much she loved her
and that was not the truth.

Then,
The end.

STORY 3

Once, once, once upon a time,
there lived a beautiful girl named Eden Brooks Bodie,
and she was not beautiful at all.

She had much longer hair than anybody.
And then, they were not very happy because of the other people being rude,
because they were rude.

And then, and then,
“I don’t know what to say,” their Princess Beauty said.
“Love from love. Love from love,” the Beauty said.

“Beauty, what happened to you?”

And then, the Superhero came and picked her up and
She was dead after all.
Then, there was a dragon that was in the village.

The End.

THOUGHTS ... ... ...

God safe all through the night.
I can’t hear you, but in heaven I will.

……………………..

Lord you are well.
God you are safe
all through the night.

God is always with you on the night.
Love from you my holy God.
You are with me all through the night.
You are slafes* and God.

Goliath is a mean giant,
and you are well safely in your bed.
Your mom and dad closed the door,
and Daddy and Momma are in the den watching soccerball or football.
