Thankfully, CC and Granddaddy were able to make it for the gymnastics meet, and later that night, Britton, CoCo, Winters, and Rowe made it to Baton Rouge for the big birthday party weekend.
Fast forward to Saturday, around 8 AM. After a night of the girls crying, Ashley was in the girls' room and EB was in ours. EB sat up. I asked her if she was okay. She said yes then proceeded to throw up ... yep. She stayed in the room the rest of the day doing not much more than watching Netflix movies and sleeping.
Not only did we have to call all the guest, but we had to quarantine ... as Britton, Courtney, Winters, and Rowe were upstairs; CC and Granddaddy were at a hotel down the street; and Nona and Big Daddy were already on their way with Aunt Sarah and her new puppy.
Not exactly how we planned to spend her birthday weekend.
Sometime last summer, EB asked for a real playhouse. I somehow mentioned that we'd need someone who knew how to build houses to actually have one. Well, that led to a playhouse being something she would get the next time her Uncle Britton came in town to build it. When we realized Uncle Britton was coming for her birthday, we knew what the grandparents would be giving her for her birthday.
When EB was feeling better on Saturday, she was surprised by her new playhouse - which came in a box that suggested it would be a big job ...
Lydia had a blast being the center of attention and with her cousin Winters.
And Nona got her baby fix with Rowe.
EB was well enough for a bit to play with Rubie ...
Nona brought over dresses for the girls to try on - and Lydia liked hers a lot.
She also very much enjoyed the new playhouse!!!
EB did open a few presents ...
Matching shoes for the birthday girls from CC!
We were thankful to have family around who were willing to stay the course despite sickness in the house. It ended up being a really good day.
