The last time we posted a house hunting post was 2010. This time we think we are more serious - we have been pre-approved for a loan, and we actually have real estate agent, for instance. We liked this one...
... but it is a 30 minute drive to campus and at least a 20 minute drive to EB's school for next year - a bit too far (for now anyway).
This next house is one of several of basically the same house for sale in a neighborhood close to campus (7 minute drive). We like it, but the girls' rooms are quite small, the yards are massive with no trees, and something about the way they are built felt like a "pretend" house to us. We couldn't really explain it, but we both had the same feeling. So not ideal.
This last one is "the one that got away." We saw it at 9 am on Saturday, and at 11:00 it had an accepted offer. Sigh. It is in a GREAT neighborhood and was so CLEAN and well taken care of! (Plus a new roof, new floors, full-house generator, carport that Ashley wants, and lots of space) There was a decorative plate of our church hanging in the kitchen, so we think an older church member lives there now. We are secretly hoping that something strange happens with the offer so we can swoop in and get it...or that something else in the neighborhood will come up soon.
It's only been a month and a half of official looking, so we are still optimistic (and revising our "must have" list daily). We'll post pictures of the one we eventually put an offer on soon!
