For our seven-year anniversary, I cooked seafood cakes with a crawfish cream sauce, and Ashley and I sat on the couch. We started talking about our anniversary book (our present to each other every year) and what picture would go in it. Then, we realized that we may not have many "just us" pictures to choose from {out of the total 2,879 "favorite" photos from the year. Ashley counted}. The total "just us" photos? Five.
And that includes the one we took tonight ...
And just in case you are worrying ...
1. Since we are actually in our 8th year of marriage the seven-year-itch-thing is null and void.
2. We're both okay not getting each other presents other than writing our yearly letters to eachother ... seriously, we're fine. I try to convince my students of this, and they just look at me like I'm crazy then say, "No. She really wants a present." You may think the same thing to yourself. That's fine - we know the truth.
