Unfortunately, when I went to pack up the car leaving Fable and Ever's house, the DVD player power cord plug-in had been taken apart and I could only find three of the four teeny-tiny pieced to make it work again. Even after taking them out to the car, Eden and Ever couldn't remember doing it (really?) so we started the four-hour trip hoping the player would last through at least one movie for E.
It lasted through Peter Pan (which she loved), and then miraculously the girls were content with books, snacks, and songs. Thankfully, CC met us 30 minutes outside town for another McAlister's lunch and little shopping. By the time we made it back to the 147 and got the car all cleaned out, I found this ..
... sitting INSIDE the air conditioning vent by the cigarette lighter (what do you call that now that's it not really a cigarette lighter? car outlet?)
We spent the rest of the day just chillin' ...
... swimmin' ...
... and admiring the new countertops and backsplash in CC & Granddaddy's kitchen ...
... looks amazing, right?!
The girls also created their own version of a fist pump. They did this head touch thing all night.
On Friday, we stopped by the Curious George exhibit at the Mississippi Art Museum with CC before getting on the road one final time headed home.
Although the marker didn't work so well, the book page said, "This is Eden. She lived in Baton Rouge. She was a happy, little girl and was always very helpful."
By the time we got back home, I sat in my room by myself for an hour and put my feet up.
Whew. That was a great and tiring trip. Thank you, CC and Granddaddy, for making it all work out - couldn't have done it without you!
I give you so much credit Ashley! I couldn't have done all that driving with the girls by myself! Looks like it was a fun (and tiring!) trip.
