our family Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, and we read stories before bed ...

We did our family Christmas the Saturday before that Wednesday.  Santa always knows our travel plans and accommodates them nicely. Once we made sure the girls were in bed, Santa set things up. EB had made it known that she thought Santa would like using their tent again to put their gifts in. Nice idea ...

Around 6:30 or so that morning, the girls were both in our bed, finding their stockings that someone had conveniently left on our blanket chest.

We moseyed into the den around 7:00 to find, among other things, a REAL RECEIPT MAKER! The noise it makes as it prints out the numbers on the paper tape was the best part.

A tricycle that Lydia can push with her feet ...

and the hit of the party, a triple doll stroller or as the girls call it a 3-double stroller.

At some point that morning, Lydia emerged from the playroom exclaiming "New Baby!" EB had received it for her last birthday, but we let Lydia think it was new. Is that bad?

EB intently wrote receipts and printed them out all day ... I think we owe close to $56 billion.

Ashley used her "fancy" glass, a gift from Marie, for eggnog ...

EB gave Ashley a charm bracelet that she made in Sunday School!

And we spent some time outside since it was in the 60s ...

It was a wonderfully relaxed day with movie watching and playtime. Exactly what we wanted.
