9 to 4

Last Saturday night, Lydia slept from 9 until 4 a.m. - no kidding.

We didn't go to bed until after 10. At 11, she grunted so I decided to put her in her pajamas, change her diaper, and go ahead and nurse her. She did not wake up and wouldn't nurse. The next time she woke was after 4. Crazy.
So what caused this? Well, Saturday night I got all dressed up and went to a wedding. We also had friends stay with us -- Courtney and T.J., some friends of mine from college.

Since Lydia's first night of skipping a feeding at night was the night of her Sip 'N See when CC spent the night with us, the only logical conclusion I could come up with was that I should get all dressed up, go somewhere fun, and have spend-the-night company every night to get Miss L to sleep. Perfectly logical.

Since last week, Lydia has started fairly regulary "skipping" a feeding during the night and going for a 6 hour stretch between nursing.

So at 9weeks/2months old, she is pretty consistent with this night time occurence. The only problem is you can't really tell if it's going to start at 9 or midnight. Hopefully, that one will sort itself out soon.

  1. Woo hoo! Congrats on getting longer stretches of sleep! With a 3 year old and an infant, I'm certain you deserve it! :)
