The Potty Diaries
As you know, potty "training" or really Lydia-getting-more-comfortable-with-the-idea has been going on at our house for months. These pics were taken the week after Christmas ...
For a long time now, she's been able to tell us when things have happened and has gotten much more comfortable with sitting on the potty.
A few weeks ago, we found her more than one time sitting on the big potty by herself, having pulled the step stool over to it by herself. Unfortunately, we haven't had an extended number of days at home to really get a good amount of time where she can just go to school in underwear.
However, we may be turning a corner.
Yesterday, as we were trying to start her nap, she sat up and said, "My tummy feels weird. I need to go potty." I told her to go into her bathroom and sit on her froggy potty {it's not a froggy potty. It is green, and JW has a green froggy potty, so she calls it her froggy potty}. She was gone a few minutes and then said she was done and that she went poo-poo. She really did! All by herself.
Tonight, as I was sitting in the chair in their room at bedtime, she said, "I have to go potty." So I told her to go and use her froggy potty. So, she did, and pee-peed in the potty and not her diaper.
Not sure how things will go from here on out, but this seems like a good transition.
