Our New House: The Girls' Bedroom

We've actually been talking to EB for quite some time about her sharing a bedroom with her sister. Pretty much since Lydia was born, we've casually mentioned how fun it would be to have her sister sleeping in the same room, having a room only for toys, etc.

Well a few weeks before we moved to our new house, EB said she wanted to sleep in the same room as her sister. Since we already had the guest bed set up in Lydia's room, we let her try it. It worked.

Lydia was awake the first night EB crept in the room to get in the bed. Lydia looked over and just watched her sis. When we heard EB sing her sister a lullaby, we figured it might work out. EB also told us that she wanted a smaller bed. Seriously. So we decided to really do the shared bedroom thing in the new house. Here it is on day one ...

And a little bit later ...

Their sink side of the bathroom ...

and now with EB's new bed all set up ...

It's working pretty well, and the ability to set up one of the bedrooms as a playroom has been great. Granted they don't play in there all the time, but Graham's favorite part is that we can close a door on most of the toys. The girls' favorite parts are the fuzzy rug and being able to look out their window to the friends across the street. The plan is to get walkie-talkies at some point.

Anyhow, that upholstered chair has made its way back into the den as of a few days ago, and the yellow chair  moved into their bedroom. Maybe we'll have a comfy rocking chair there soon. We shall see.
