16 month update

On September 3, Lydia turned 16 months. We finally had her 15 month checkup (sicknesses, office closing, Hurricane, and so forth)...

On the 5th of September she was 18 lbs 10 oz, 28.75 inches tall, and her head was 18 1/8 inches in circumference. Almost as small as her new pony tail, but her smile is as big and wonderful as anything I can imagine...

She loves books ...

and dressing up like a dancer, turning on the music on the cd player by herself, and dancing, too.

She has been getting to be a ham in front of the camera.  She can smile on cue (and when you are taking a picture of someone else, she sometimes smiles so that you'll also take hers).

We have also been working on body parts ... she knows all the parts of her face - blinks for eyes, tugs on ears, points to nose, opens mouth, smiles for teeth, sticks out her tongue...

One of her favorite games is to "give 5" -- she'll give Ashley a high 5. Then Ashley tells her to "go give Daddy 5," and she'll run-walk-toddle through the house to find me. And, then I send her right back. She just laughs and keeps going. She's really good at following commands, like "Put E's underwear back in the drawer" or "Look on the floor and get your paci."

She also just this past week figured out how to say Hi. It's long and drawn out.

Finally, we really think she's going to be a lefty. Every time she picks up chalk or tries to use a spoon, she always attempts things with her left hand even if we start by putting things in her right. She's growing quite fast, and we are enjoying every minute of it.
