While we ate lunch outside, Eden kept eyeing the ferris wheel. I tried suggesting the really sweet carousel, but that was not going to do it for her. Even after asking her if she was going to be scared, she responded, "Mom ... I really want to ride the ferris wheel" clearly frustrated that I was still asking her. So, we did it. Here's how excited she was before we got on ...
and during the ride she had just as much fun ...
Thankfully, most of the bucket we were in was surrounded by plexi-glass, so it was easier for me to remain calm. She loved it. Once we were on the ground again, she went on a ride that was more my speed for her ...
She told me that she and the little boy she sat with were talking about whether or not the train's wheels actually turned and pushed it along the tracks.
Our next stop was to take a traditional (at least traditional in my book since Whitney and I took a photo here over 5 years ago) Navy Pier photo with the city behind us ...
Then, it was back to the museum for more fun and for her Daddy to meet us at the end of his work day ...
Eden excitedly met him with a hug then proceeded to show him all the cool stuff she had done that day. Inventing things ...
... finding dinosour bones ...
As we were leaving, Ashley and I were contemplating whether to take a cab to Gino's and get some deep dish pizza. Eden made that choice for us as she started to show her hunger on our way out the door. Luckily, there was a pizza place to the right next to the exit - that was our dinner destination. We walked right up to the counter and ordered, chose our own table, and had food in 5 minutes. Much more kid-friendly than what he originally had in mind.
When we got back to the hotel, we made a trip to the pool - which was completely packed (though you can't tell). It was crazy - getting kicked by kids and splashed from all directions. Eden had fun, and that is all that matters. She even got to watch some of a movie on a big screen between jumping sessions.
All in all, a great day in a great, great city.
