Chicago - the morning

On Friday morning, while I was busy with conference stuff, Eden and Ashley took a bus (second mode of new transportation for E - train being the first) to Navy Pier to spend some time at the Children's Museum. The plan was to stay until lunch then do some other things ... as it happened, they stayed all day!

..............................................................

We had such a good day at Navy Pier and the Chicago Children's Museum. One of E's favorite parts of the museum was the play ticket booth, complete with laminated tickets to hand out to people going into the circus room. She roped me into being her assistant and ushering people over to her ticket booth. She definitely let me hear it if I let someone walk by without asking them if they wanted a ticket and ushering them her way.

One of our favorite parts was the baby/preschool room that was separate from the rest of the museum. Once she found the cat tail and ears and "cat bed" she was in heaven ...

She turned her snack into a house ...

... and then we participated in a cooking class which I found out about online. The chef from a local culinary school taught the kids how to cut and make chicken salad, and then the kids came back to the tables to teach their parents. It was pretty fun.

Then, we left the museum for a lunch break. Figuring out we could get regular whole milk for E at Starbucks felt like a parenting win ...

After lunch, the real fun of the day started ...
