Good Friday & L's First Stand

On Friday, the girls and I spent some time outside enjoying the gorgeous weather {nice temps, light breeze, and no bugs -- great for Louisiana!}. E and I started the morning with a snack on the deck while L took her first nap ...

Then the girls cooked while I packed up our lunches for the park ...

While we certainly have our not-so-great moments, I am amazed daily at how great these two are and how much of a joy it can be to take them places. The park was pretty much ours that day ... Lydia enjoyed watching her sis fly high in the sky from the comforts of her stroller.

Then, she showed off her pre-walking skills by pushing this toy around ...

... again, the smile was for her sister.

Since we were on cushioned astroturf, I let E take a turn with the fancy camera. This thing is heavy, you have to look through the viewfinder, and then press the shutter button halfway down to focus before actually taking the picture. E did awesome ...

taking a pic of the leaf was her idea ...

Our afternoon project while L slept was to hang Easter eggs in the front trees. E declared it her egg forest ...

and then decided they were phones that we could call eachother on ...

We spent more time after dinner enjoying the weather outside ...

And that's when it happened. Miss Lydia's first real-deal I-am-standing-on-my-own stand -- lasted for a good 5 seconds. We were all super excited.

To end the evening, we took turns playing Red Light Green Light. E created a new option -- orange/yellow light where you can move slowly -- that child is always thinking ... ...

It was a good day.
