Easter weekend

On Saturday, the weather was too gorgeous to spend our time inside. So, we opted for a little swimming after the morning nap while Graham worked on prepping the front flower bed.

Oh, those chubby little legs get me every time ...

We had started the day off early with a trip to the local garden nursery. My goal for Saturday was to spend time outside planting flowers in our front bed, and Graham agreed to take over all little-girl-watching duties for the afternoon so that I could have my gardening time. Here are the flowers I have been meaning to plant in the front bed for the past two years ...

... exactly the same kind Momma and Daddy always plant and exactly what I wanted. E decided they needed watering a little bit early ...

By mid-afternoon, Lydia was almost ready for her afternoon nap, Graham was ready to read his student's dissertation, the sun had gone back behind the house a bit, and I was ready to begin. The weather was just perfect, and my uninterrupted hours outside did not disappoint.

About halfway through, my little helper came to join me. She was busy digging for worms and proudly showed off her "so cute" finds. I kept hearing her say "You're just too precious to put down."

Here's another photo of our egg forest just after I finished planting all the flowers ...

The finished product. I love seeing them. They make me happy because I think of my Momma and Daddy each time I look at them.

Once Lydia woke up from her nap {two hours later!}, Eden and I had just finished out front. L was more than happy to watch her sister from the back door - she loves this spot.

Over the summer, I day-dreamed about being able to sit outside alone for hours on end. Can't believe that time is already here. Except for the moment in the middle of the day where I got all antsy to get out in the garden and tried to hurry Graham along, except for that {sorry, Graham}, it was a nice relaxing day at home for our little family.
