summer fun at home

One of the best parts of summer is that Ashley gets to stay home with the girls ... so if they don't feel like doing much, they don't have to.

We've had lots of summer rain showers this summer which means watching the rain from the front door while drawing ...

There is lots of art time - and Lydia creating a new artistic form -- "rainbow circles" -- where she creates circles using multiple colored markers. She is so proud of her new-found abilities.

There is playtime at the neighbors ... and playing on Piper's new drumset.

There is some going out of the neighborhood, down the street to the library to meet world famous pigs, for instance.

And there is lots of being silly...

And some napping, really maybe one or two naps altogether.

We have also received some new furnishings for the house - a rug for our bedroom is the most recent addition.

It is comfy to dance on.

Speaking of dancing, the girls really enjoyed seeing Grace perform at the library with the Baton Rouge Youth Ballet.

They've had a great start to the summer.
