The day after we got back from San Antonio, I started thinking about the fact the my brother and his crew would be at the 147 at the end of the week. When I told Graham that night that part of me wanted to drive up to see them on Friday, he looked at me like I had lost my mind. We had just driven about 20 hours over the weekend, but you can guess what happened by the time Friday came around ...
We drove up early in the morning and spent the day at CC and Granddaddy's going swimming eating and playing with Winters and Rowe ...
This picture of the four kiddos together was worth the drive!
That night we went out to dinner at Uncle Britton and Granddaddy's choice -- El Portrillo Mexican Grill -- as an early Father's Day celebration. Since we were right by the interstate at that point, I decided we'd just head home instead of staying the night since we had to be a bday party in Baton Rouge the next morning.
So we drove 3+ hours on the way up, played for the day, and drove back home -- just me and the girls. I've never done the trip in one day before but thankfully it all worked out. Worth it to see the cousins and Granddaddy since CC had been in Texas for a while at that point.
You'd think our travels would have been done for the summer at that point, but you'd be wrong :)
