This is how I found my girls at bedtime the night before Miss Lydia turned 3 ...
... and later that night ...
So much for having two beds ;). Before we went to bed, we prepped the party favors for the next day ...
The next morning, EB just couldn't wait to give Lydia the gift she had picked our for her - a bug net and house for the backyard ...
Later in the morning we headed to the park for the big par-tay!!

As we were getting dressed for the party, I had thought L would want to wear a matching dress with her sis, but it was a no go. In the moment, L said, "I want a party dress with pockets!" She was so earnest in her plea that I couldn't deny her when I looked up in the closet and saw the perfect dress, even though it happened to be the very dress her sister wore for her third birthday party. I guess it was meant to be.

crazy face!
By the end of the party, all of the grandparents had arrived, and we got one of my all-time favorite photos!
After the party, we went out to eat at lunch at McAlister's with all the family, grandparents included, and then spent the afternoon playing at home. We ended the day by surprising the girls with a "party bath" -- bubbles, bath crayons, and pink "cake batter" aka shaving cream for cooking (thanks, Beth, for the fabulous idea!).
All in all, it was a great day to celebrate our baby girl and made my heart very full.

Ash, you totally need to post a photo of EB on her 3rd birthday in the green dress next to L on her 3rd with the green dress!!
