First days of summer ...

When we got back to Baton Rouge, our summer break officially started! Our first full day at home, we had lunch at Chick-fil-A with friends and then had face-painting while Lydia napped.

Lydia loved to scare us as a scary animal.

The girls got suckers after Lydia had her two year shots

that has replaced his red-and-black college-kid backpack

Friday night, we had dinner and swimming with Caroline and Camille's family.

On our first Saturday of summer, we finally cut EB's hair with a summer cut.

She has been asking to cut her hair for a few months. I told her we could cut it for the summer since last summer it kept getting caught under her underarms with all her sleeveless clothes. Thankfully, she let me cut it on the backporch since she wanted it done right away ...

The rest of our first Saturday of summer was spent at two birthday parties, two of Lydia's friends from PDO, Caswell and Aida. The first party was an animal party ...

Yes, they had rats. Along with ducks, turtles, a baby crocodile, and a wallaby ... her first day with the new haircut ...

Lydia was not too thrilled with the animals, but we all loved seeing friends ... When EB's CC was joking about her maybe marrying Keegan one day, EB said, "Well, maybe one of them."

That same day, Graham handed down his old little laptop to Miss EB for typing and her sites -- PBS Kids, Starfall, and Highlights. She was unbelievably excited.

The second party of the day was a swim party for Aida ...

On Sunday to celebrate Memorial Day, we had the Goeke family over for a cookout. It was a great last weekend and time spent out in our old backyard.

Such a fun way to start our summer!
