2 year update

With another month under her belt (which she does not keep on just like the rest of her clothing), we see lots of amazing changes in our little Lydia.

She still enjoys books, but she is sitting more and more still for longer and longer periods of time - now flipping through them and many times trying to "read" what is on the pages.

One of the most entertaining and sweet things she does is say "Thank you, Mommy." or "Thank you, Daddy" or "Thank you, Sissy" when one of us helps her or gives her something she asks for. Get her some more milk? "Thank you, Daddy." Pick up her spoon? "Thank you, Sissy." Give her a piece of bread off your plate? "Thank you, Mommy." She then enjoys repeating "Thank you, Mommy" each time that you say you're welcome. She usually says it about five times.

She also very much enjoys eating at the big-girl table. That highchair in the corner? It no longer lives in our house. She sits in a regular chair (though we have had to put a "seatbelt" -- sequined belt strapped around the back of the chair and on her waist -- on her when she gets up too many times and starts walking around the kitchen).

And, yes, she still LOVES doing whatever her sissy is doing.

She LOVES giving hugs and kisses (or teasing you by not giving them to you when you ask only to plant a big kiss on your lips after that game is over).

She loves to smile for the camera, say cheese ... and then look at that picture and the other 3,000 that are stored.

She loves eating things with condiments  - or just eating the condiments like the ketchup she ate off of the spoon at Chick-Fil-A a few weeks ago.

She loves being outside and doing artwork, sometimes at the same time.

She loves being naked ... seriously, she will take her diaper off and can do so rather quickly. Just before this picture was taken, Ashley told her she had to be in the bathroom (i.e., off the carpet) if she was not going to wear a diaper. She must have sat there 10 minutes looking at books. (Interestingly, she will sit on something very similar to a baby potty but she will NOT, under any circumstances, sit on an actual baby potty.)

We will head to the doctor for her official two-year check-up soon. For now, all we know is that she's pretty perfect and looking older every day.
