21 month update

Our sweet Lydia now loves to... wear her sister's panties on the outside of her clothes ...

... play on the gym equipment at Leeward park (including the tall spiral slide) ...

... watch a show with her sister in the morning ...

... and pretend with EB.

She is getting much more vocal and has several words in her spoken vocabulary - of course she understands nearly everything we tell her, and that surprises us sometimes.

Her hair is getting longer, causing Ashley to always pull it up in the BamBam like ponytail.

She likes to eat in small sittings, sometimes only a grape or two every 2-3 minutes. Seriously. The kid eats like all day long. I think it's genetic, from her mom's side. At least she now likes to carry her plate to the counter when she's done eating. Someday, she'll actually be able to reach the counter when she gets there.

She really likes to get ready for bath. She helps take her clothes off and puts them in the dirty clothes basket. She helps take her diaper off and throws it in the trash.

While in the bath, she likes to splash water on her face then ask for a towel - like 32 times in a row. When you tell her to get out she says "No" and tries to hide. I think "No" is actually her favorite word. We play this game at the dinner table - "Lydia, are you a girl?" "No" "Are you a baby?" "No" "Are you a toddler?" "No" Fun stuff.

Another fun game is "who do you love?" It starts by asking her who she loves. She usually answers "I love daddy." EB takes offense, so Lydia will make sure EB knows "I love sissy!" [Editor's Note: Graham has been practicing this trick with L for a few months. She used to reply Momma no matter what he said.]

She loves to smile and laugh - what makes her giggle sometimes is if I act sad. Not sure why.

She enjoys coloring - and after every stroke or two of the crayon to say "Mama" or "Dada" and show you her creation.

She likes to say her friends' names - Elanor (Eh-no), Belle (Beh), Rylan (RyRy).

She still likes going to school - and giving her teachers (Jen-Jen and 'Chelle) hugs.

She likes being swung in the air and dropped on the couch or bed ... over and over and over and over - saying "more" and signing between drops and crying if you stop.

She loves playing baby and legos - building really tall towers and showing you "granddaddy" entertains her for quite a while.

She still adores her sister. She cried for 5 minutes on our run the other day because her sister wasn't sitting next to her in the double stroller. All I heard was, "Sissy!! Sissy!! Sissy!!"

She still loves her Momma. Anytime she is upset or hurt, she toddles over to Ashley, sobbing all the way, and then takes a few deep breathes of contentment once she reaches her Momma's leg or arms.

All in all, we are still loving watching this little one grow up.
