13 month update

On June 3, Lydia turned 13 months. It is hard to believe it has been over a year since she came into this world ... and boy have things changed.

Now, when you ask her a question, she responds - like when we ask "Where are the dogs" and she goes to her picture book and turns to that page then starts saying "dow.dow.dow". Amazing!

Although she has always been curious (I feel like saying This is Lydia. She is a good little girl but always very curious.), her curiosity has taken her to new places as she has grown. Right now, one of her favorite things to do is to ransack your kitchen cabinets. Here she is doing her move on CC and Granddaddy's tupperware pantry.

In addition to throwing (not just tupperware on the floor but also balls and sometimes toys that look like balls), Lydia has mad walking skills. Every day she is getting less wobbly and using her arms less to balance.

Of course, Lydia and Eden have always "played', it is just that now they are really starting to play together ...

Eden rolls around with her (most of the time gently of course), kisses her all over, and chases her around (one of Lydia's favorite games with Eden is to go try and find her and then when Eden starts coming toward her Lydia will turn to walk or crawl away hurredly).

Lydia and Eden were introduced to the tunnel first in Destin. They LOVE hiding and seeking - and Lydia gets a kick out of when Eden stands up inside of it and looks like one of those blow up people advertising mattresses.

And, Eden gets a kick out of her sister just as much as the other way around!

After they have rolled around and mess up their hair, it is time for a brush ...

... and a bow.

Some of Lydia's favorite things to do now include walking as much as possible, signing all done and out, bringing you book after book and sitting down in your lap for a read, getting into the bathroom or her sister's room whenever the doors are left open, playing with any door or drawer that she can get open, giving open-mouth kisses, and "getting people" by grabbing, tickling, and kissing. She also has to be distracted during diaper changes with questions like "Where is Lydia's belly?" - she can show you her tongue and toes if you ask. She still likes to have a bottle before her morning and afternoon nap and bedtime, and still likes to hold her paci in her hand (and switch it out instead of the bottle a few times) while she drinks her bottle. Seems like her paci is her lovee.

Every day is a new adventure, and we are so blessed to have two healthy, smart, and fun-to-be around little girls!
