saved by the parents

On Thursday 3.22, I woke up at 4:30 and headed to the Baton Rouge airport for a day of flying, desination Bremerton, Washington (just outside Seattle).  At that point, Lydia was not sleeping well at night and was running a fever, which she did off-and-on for 5 days. She was also starting to get congested.

Ashley reported that she was not able to have any interaction with others because of L's sickness bug but that thankfully E was super helpful and patient while her sister needed so much attention. Here's how Ashley navigated going back and forth during bedtime -- E wanted to watch her sister and fell asleep with her hand on the monitor ...

On Saturday, Ashely when to the doctor and found out that L had her first ear infection. They started antibiotics that morning, and after two full days as the only parent and four nights of no sleep, she just about went crazy .... but then ...

Ashley was saved by the parents (and uncle, Chip visiting from California) ...

The highlight of the weekend was definitely seeing Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music {E's birthday gift}. Of course, they had aisle seats on the floor, great for watching the characters and dancing to the music. Report was that E was fascinated the whole time.

After the show, the foursome went to eat at McAlister's -- at dinner, E asked about the character the Count. After CC finished telling her about the Count and princes and princesses and kings and queens, E responded, "We have a president."  They were floored. Interesting logic for a 4 year old! Wow...

Over the weekend, Lydia continued to have a hard time at night, screaming for hours on end and only stopping when she was being held ... Ashley just about lost it but thankfully had her parents there to step in and take over.

Luckily, my trip was cut short, and I got back late Monday night. And, thankfully, CC stayed until Tuesday just to make sure Ashley didn't really go crazy. A final entertainment for the weekend was dying Easter eggs ...

A mere three days later, Ashley vanished to Oklahoma. I was saved by the parents on Friday evening ...

The highlight of our weekend was planting a garden and eating watermelon outside in the 90 degree heat ...

We had a good meal on Saturday night (Amberjack which Lydia LOVES) ...

... and Eden took more pictures on the camera than any of us (sorry!)...

On Sunday, we want to Palm Sunday service and after joined others on the church lawn for a picnic and Easter egg hunt.

At home, we pulled the pool out from the storage shed while Lydia napped and enjoyed the weather while waiting on Ashley to return on Monday ...
