On September 3, Lydia turned 4 months old.
She weighed in at an impressive 11 lbs 6.5 oz [5th%] and was 22 inches tall [almost 2nd%]. As we might expect, her head ... 16 inch circumference [50th%].
Other updates include:
- She is much more active. She stays awake for much longer between feedings and sometimes goes several hours without sleep.
- She is now sitting at the table with us for dinner. Before we got down the high chair, she was chilling out in her lounger. She did not like that much, not being able to be in all the action. Now ... she talks to us and smiles alot (and checks out Eden a ton). She joined us for her first meal at the table on her 4-month day.
- She is holding her head up with only slight wobbles. We can tell she'll sit up soon, and her legs are quite strong, too. She loves to stand with someone holding her for balance.
- She is still our little snuggle bear. Even though she is growing up rapidly, she still enjoys snuggling close at night (and during the day and in the morning).
She is doing a much better job of sleeping during the night, sometimes sleeping until 4:30 after falling asleep around 10 or 10:30. This is not an every-night routine as she is still waking up some nights at 2 or 3 for a feeding. She has also gotten quite accustomed to having her momma's full attention every night and wants to nurse every half hour to hour between 7 and 10. So much for getting work done after Eden goes to bed. During the days, Lydia will often get in one two-to-three hour nap, still napping in her chair, but for the most part is only going two to three hours between nursing sessions.
Overall, our little one is really attentive and free with her smiles when she sees us. We can tell she loves to watch her big sister and is taking in everything around her. It is a joy to watch her growing and becoming more alert.
