5 little monkeys ...

... swinging in the tree.
Teasin' Mr. Alligator, "Can't catch me!"
Along comes Mr. Alligator, quiet as can be.
A-a-a-and, SNAP that monkey out that tree.

If we did not know we were in Louisiana, we do now. Who knew little monkeys did not jump on beds but hung from trees ... and did not bump their heads but were eaten by gaters?!?

This is one of the songs Eden and her classmates have been singing this week - Eden taught it to Ashley (when Ashley asked her about school she started singing it, going from 5 to 3 to no). And, one of Eden's teachers printed out the words so Ashley could really learn it.

This is just one thing we have leared these past two weeks about Eden and her new year at PDO. For the first few days, every we time we picked E up they just kept saying, "Oh, she's so-o-o great." We finally thought to ask what it meant and found out ...
  • She does what she is told - goes potty, lies down for a nap, cleans up, and shares toys with others - which makes her a teacher's pet we suspect.
  • She always takes someone's hand and follows directions when they have to partner up to walk somewhere outside their room. The report is that she likes to hold hands with Keegan or Russell. So her teachers think she is a great little helper.
  • Today, she told her teacher, "I love my momma. I love my daddy." They thought it was "so cute." (They also thought it cute when she kissed each of them.)
  • Russell must be getting candy in his lunch, because at bedtime tonight when Ashley asked E what happened today she described the red candy Russell had and his sandwich and how she wanted red candy, too.
  • They are learning the shape circle and the color green this month [Ashley might send Green Eggs and Ham for storytime.]
  • Eden likes to give Keegan kisses. On the way home from school the other day, Ashley told Eden they were about to see Keegan again for a playdate, and E got super excited. She started talking and said, "I like Keegan. I like give Keegan kisses." Ashley was a little surprised but asked, "Where do you give Keegan kisses?" "On the playground." A little hesitant, Ashley asked, "Well, where do you kiss Keegan?" "On the cheek." Whew. Cute since she's only two and doesn't even really know the difference between family and friends. Guess we have to start saying kisses are for family and hugs are for friends ... our new lesson for the week.

  1. ...or you could just starting singing "Eden & Keegan sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g!" You know, in some places (maybe even south Louisiana), arranged marriages are perfectly normal! :)
