Happy Halloween!
Today is Wear-Orange Day for L's class and Silly-Hat Day for EB's class ...
On Saturday, we went to Caroline and Camille's Halloween party. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to finish Graham's scarecrow costume and just my "Dorothy" skirt pinned on with safety pins. All the kids, however, knew that I was Dorothy and seemed quite pleased. EB loved her Glenda the Good Witch (aka Glenda the Bruja) costume, and L was the cutest little munchkin.
Hopefully, we'll enjoy some trick-or-treating tonight. Happy Halloween!
Momma and girls playtime
headed into gym, Lydia was in the stroller and E said that she could do it all by herself
She stood next to the Lunchables display for a good five minutes studying all the different kinds and then told me that she just needed to get them for her lunch for school. Thankfully, she was pacified with just taking a picture of them to show her Daddy. I knew what the verdict would be ... no way! Since the sodium content is too much for her Daddy to handle. He made a lunchable by getting thick-cut ham at the deli -- he even used a tablespoon to cut the ham into circles. Such a good daddy!
L was a little restless so E walked her up and down the aisle. Miss Lydia thought it was so much fun, and E would just turn her right around once they got to the end.
This was the very first time I let E got to the bathroom by herself. We were standing in line to checkout with all of our stuff already on the conveyer belt when she said she had to go. I kept saying she had to wait. She kept saying she had to go. Then I realized we were right by the bathroom. So, she said she could do it by herself, and I watched the door continuously til she came out a few minutes later. Needless to say, she was proud, but I will not be making a habit of this.

I finally got around to spray painting it with Rustoleum. So much better!

Whit said I should buy these shoes, but I chickened out.
(They were actually Dr. Scholl's on the inside and super comfortable!)
putting off going to sleep
can you tell she's making the animal sounds while playing?!
and she did line them all up by herself
turning into such a big girl and wanted to do everything her sis does

our October birthday weekend
At the beginning of the month, we had all planned to head to Jackson to help celebrate our October birthdays. Unfortunately, Lydia came down with Hand, Foot, and Mouth a few days before we were scheduled to go. A 17month curious toddler with HFM is not a good person to have around a 3-month old baby. So, Eden Brooks and I headed to Jackson alone. We had some fun playtime the night before we left, and then we were on our way.
Actually, I drove Miss E to McComb on Thursday to meet her CC and Granddaddy. They spent the day on Friday at the Mississippi State Fair riding rides and taking care of the animals at the livestock show. I drove back to Jackson on Friday, and we all got to visit with Aunt CoCo, Uncle Britton, and Henry Winters. We got CoCo's early birthday present ready on Saturday morning and even got to FaceTime and Whitney in when it was opened ...
... and spent some time with Ms. Oden's new dog ...
... and CC's new ride ...
Then it was time to cheer on the Bulldogs as our way to celebrate Granddaddy's birthday ...
Winters got a little tired during the game but he rebounded after a quick snooze ...
We had to say goodbye to the little cousin at lunch but did get to go to Granddaddy's Sunday School birthday party that night. On the way home, E and I stopped off to get some tights and admire the itty-bitty clothes at BabyGap ...
She dined on chocolate milk earlier in the day but by the time we drove home from the party and the stores that night she was out completely. So much so that I let her sleep in her cheerleader uniform. Not a minute after I put her in the bed correctly, she was already moved around taking up all the room ....
The next day, we went to church, where E signed us all in ...
And after a yummy lunch at "the place with the fish in the tank," Eden, CC, and I headed back to Baton Rouge. I'm so thankful for our celebratory birthday weekend. Hopefully, we'll have another one when everybody is well!
