iphone Friday

Technically, this first photo is from Thursday, but who cares, right? Tried to do my hair like Whitney did it ...

Our outing on friday was to Hobby Lobby (aka Hobba Lobba). Yes the ballerina with leggings danced in the store while we waited to have the photos framed. Do you think either of them will grow out of wanting to chew on things any time soon?

Have had these photos for a few months and finally got them framed ...

Lunch turned into watching Lydia sleep on the monitor and eating ham with mini-chocolate chips ... as in, eating a bite of ham with chocolate chips at the same time. Don't ask how that one happened. I did not try it.

Finally took a photo of the new photo in Lydia's room (yay for saving frames for over 10 years and using them again) ...

Got the new pics hung while little stood at her favorite spot. She is now represented on the wall ...

Ballerina Eden turned into Super Eden in the blink of an eye ...

Super Eden took our photo ...

... and then decided she didn't want her sister in it.

Afternoon snack time became reading and eating at the same time. Oh, how I love to do this, too ...

We ended the day by picking up our new mini-van ...

Just kidding. We really did pick up a mini-van to use while the Toyota dealership put new tires on Lola. More on the mini adventures from Saturday later. We ended the night practicing our new dance lift ...

Fun times at the 2141.

Lydia, Lydia, Lydia

The other day Ashley felt as if she did not have enough pictures of Lydia, by herself, and feared we may be fulfilling the second-child syndrome ... so ...

So cute!

being outside

If you looked at our weather, you wouldn't be able to tell it's January. Highs in the 70s. Lows in the 50s. And great sunshine for a photo shoot!

Eden had a great time rolling around in her new tent (without Lydia in it of course). Literally, she rolled the tent across the yard while she was inside ...

... and acted like a crazy outside the tent as well.

Lydia had a great time watching her crazy sister ...

Eden at Ballet

Last Tuesday, Eden started ballet. Excited does not even begin to describe how she felt. On Saturday, she rewrote the weekly calendar claiming that Tuesday was next. When we broke the bad news, she said "I just wish it was Tuesday!" She asked us no less than three times a day, every day for the week, how many more days  were left before Tuesday.

When Tuesday finally got here ... well, pictures are worth 1,000 words -

... and all that was BEFORE it even started! Afterward ...

from Ashley ... Thankfully, Graham came home a bit early to keep the little one while Eden and I went to her first class. Eden seemed to really enjoy the class. She spent the ride home and the rest of the night spouting out different things she learned from class including jumping over the alligator pit (learning how to do leaps), dancing with a stuffed teddy bear (learning how to hold her arms), and showed us how to put her feet into proper position.

The only hiccup came when we got to the car and she asked me what I had seen her do (oh, dagger to the heart since all I wanted to do for the 45 minutes was be able to see her excited little face). When I told her I had to wait in the lobby with the other parents, big tears filled her eyes. By the time we got home, however, she was begging to go back. Thankfully, she now thinks of it as "ballet school" where I get to come watch every now and then (thanks, CC, for that idea). This week, the class was great! She told me on the way to class that she was not going to be shy and that she was going to use her good manners. When we left, she spent the entire car ride home telling me all about class and practicing how to say plie.

Here are some pics from last week before she went to her first class ...

Graham and Eden practice this all the time - from The Nutcracker - she even makes him do this right before he leaves her classroom for drop-off. No idea why Graham ended up wearing that hat ...

Thank you, Aunt Beverly, for Eden's early birthday gift of ballet class and to Nona for her new ballet attire. She is over the moon for this!

ballet video

These little video clips were taken right after ballet class this week and just after Eden received a new box of books in the mail. At the end of the video, you can see how she just kept wanting to redo her thoughts about ballet class ... pretty cute.

My first ride.

The other day, the girls were home with Ashley with the sniffles. Since I had not been to the grocery yet for the week, Ashley was going to go to Eden's favorite place for lunch. Unfortunately, I had the car seat in my car. Fortunately, Eden's extra seat was still in the house from when we tried it out the other night. Time for a real test ...

Not only did she fit, but Eden had a grand time watching her little sister sit in the same kind of seat.

Since it was a stay at home day because the girls had the sniffles, it was also matching pajama day ...

... Lydia was especially excited.

Apparently it was also matching frowns day, too ...

... really they were happy most of the day, and this picture of Eden was more of a staged frown than anything real. Can't you tell?
