garden treasures
It only took one time to teach E how to pick beans ... she is a natural. She picks it then pulls off the top like a pro. Very impressive. (Oh, and she eats them like a pro, too, often not leaving any for me or Ashley.)

mother's day
The crazy thing about Mother's Day this year ... both my mom and Ashley's mom were here as were our two daugthers. Even so, we could not get a group picture given the sickness scare. Can you tell Eden knows what to do for a fever?

CC & Granddaddy
Eden's CC had already planned to visit the week after their beach trip ... the only difference was a new ability to hold her new granddaughter.
Eden was pampered and taken to all the sights of BR - the museum, the zoo, the mall (with indoor merry-go-round), the library, and of course Chick-fil-a. Eden got so used to her, she began to think she was CC...
Eden really was over the moon about the visit, and so were we ... it was certainly a nice transition to have someone come and help out with everything. Neither Ashley nor I think we could have made that first week without having CC's help all week.
At the end of the week, Eden's Granddaddy came over from Jackson to pick up Christy. I'm not sure how long it took to start counting the days until the next visit, but it happened pretty soon.

sisters
It has been so amazing watching Eden get used to her new sister. She always wants to check on Lydia, to kiss on her, give her a paci, and touch her. It's definitely a learning experience for all of us.

Lydia's first bath
On Friday, May 6, Lydia had her first bath (well, at least the first one we gave her at home). She did pretty well, only crying a little when she got too cold. Once we wrapped her up, she was wide eyed and ready to eat.

meeting Nona
On Friday, after we had been home for about 24 hours, Nona came for a visit! Eden was beside herself with excitement - "Nona! We have a new baby!" Very cute.

I think the headband (from Pam and Larry Batchelor) was supposed to be Lydia's, but Eden could not resist trying it on.
Lydia also got her first swimsuit (Pam and Larry also gave Eden her first swimsuit 3 years ago). It is pink and ruffly just like Eden's was, and, yes, Eden tried on Lydia's - somewhat too small, but that's only a minor issue. And Eden got a new swimsuit coverup, which will come in handy at the end of the month when Eden and I go to Destin.
That afternoon, Sandy King, a long-time Bodie family friend, came to vist too. It was very special for Sandy to get to meet Lydia and hang out for a while.

In all, we had a great weekend and a great visit (though we were all so tired I'm not sure we expressed how much we appreciated everything). There is no way we would have been able to handle Eden's fever, the bum AC unit, and our new crazy normal if it were not for Nona. Thanks!

Lenae visits
One of our first visitors was Lenae Goeke (otherwise known as Tommy's mom). Eden spent the night with them the first night we were in the hospital. It was so nice to have good friends to take care of Eden so that we could focus on meeting our new little one. Lenae came by the night we arrived home from the hospital to say hey and meet Lydia.
