Mysteriously, Eden turns both 11 months and one year on Friday the 13th. We're not sure how it happened, but she is not taking it too seriously.
In fact, when I told her about it, she just laughed.
Then, she stuck her tongue out at the idea.
So, what has this last month brought if not good luck on a Friday the 13th?
Well, since she
started standing she has become progressively better. She has definitely begun "cruising" - a pseudo walk that involves balancing herself on things and moving her feet. Since this past weekend, she's also started standing without really holding onto things -- she usually has one hand off and one hand on for balance, and she often reaches for things while standing. As you can see, she loves to stand up anywhere she can ...

On Saturday, Feb 14, we really started to notice that she was conciously squatting when going from a standing to a sitting position.
On Sunday, Feb 15 it truly sounded like she thought she was talking. It started with her sticking her tongue out then pulling it back in her mouth and making sounds while doing that (you know, blamblamblam). Then, she she just started talking - with more forcefulness than usual, almost like she was having a conversation with herself (or her imaginary friend). She also, on multiple occassions, picked up a book and started to read it (or at least produce sounds while flipping pages).
And, on Monday, Feb 16 she "walked" with a toy walker at PDO (although we are not convinced that it officially happened since we weren't there.)
So, there you have it - lost of progress in such a short month. We are waiting for her to start trying to walk any day now - and hope to catch it on video. Certainly, we'll keep you posted.
